Os críticos de Los Angeles ficaram rendidos ao filme romântico Chama-me Pelo Teu Nome, que ultrapassa a condição do sexo, do italiano Luca Guadagnino. Para além do Melhor Filme, venceu ainda nas categorias de melhor realizador, empatado com Guillermo del Toro para The Shape of Water, e ainda melhor actor para Timothée Chalamet.
The Shape of Water venceu também em três categorias, incluindo melhor atriz para Sally Hawkins e fotografia para Dan Laustsen.
Entre os outros vencedores destaca-se The Florida Project, com Willem Dafoe para melhor atriz secundário, e Laurie Metcalf, para o correspondente prémio feminino, em Lady Bird. Jordan Peele venceu na categoria de melhor guião em Foge.
Os prémios serão entregues num jantar a 13 de janeiro.
